Planning and Design Review
At TXK, we have an efficient process to help you begin building at our airport. See below for the most up-to-date information on our streamlined planning and design processes.
Step 1: Pre-Application
Get copy of:
- Leasing Policy
- Minimum Standards
- Commercial Operator and Lessee Application
- Current Airport Layout Plan
- Rules and Regulations
- Capital Investment Schedule
Step 2: Application
Submit proposal with:
- Completed Commercial Operator and Lessee Application
Step 3: Within 90 days
Airport Director shall convey key terms:
- Rents
- Fees
- Other charge
Or will convey reason(s) for rejecting application in writing
Step 4: Within 30 days
Applicant shall indicate if the key terms and conditions are acceptable to the Applicant
If NOT acceptable
- Applicant shall present to Airport Director revised key terms and conditions that are acceptable, within 30 days
- Authority may negotiate key terms and conditions with applicant or initiate competitive proposal process
If acceptable
- Authority and Applicant will enter into Memorandum of Understanding outlining key terms and conditions
- Earnest money deposit or letter of credit in amounts equivalent to rents, fees, and other charges for first month or $1000 whichever is greater, as evidence of good faith
Step 5: After entering Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
- Agreement shall be prepared by the Authority for review by Applicant, once Applicant executes agreement it will be presented to Authority for execution
- Agreements over 5 years must be approved by both Texarkana AR and TX city councils
