The Texarkana Regional Airport (TXK), nestled in the heart of the Texarkana metropolitan area, boasts a rich history dating back to its establishment in the early 20th century. Originally known as Texarkana Municipal Airport, the airport was born out of the region’s need for improved air transportation facilities. In 1930, the airport officially opened its doors to commercial air service, marking a significant milestone in the area’s transportation infrastructure.
